The Historic Harmar Bridge Company announced the return of the annual Harmar Days festival on Friday, July 30 through Sunday, August 1st in Harmar Village. In addition to the festival’s return, the nonprofit is hosting a Summer Raffle featuring an array of valuable prizes, including a 2021 Toyota Tacoma truck.

The following remarks were shared by Chuck Swaney, President of the Historic Harmar Bridge Company, before the turning and closure of the Harmar Bridge on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 in acknowledgement of an important chapter in Marietta’s history.

On Sunday March 1st at 11 a.m. the Historic Harmar Bridge will be turned and officially close until funds are raised to restore the Harmar Bridge through our Save Harmar Bridge campaign.

On Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 the Historic Harmar Bridge Company unanimously passed a resolution to close the Harmar Bridge to pedestrian traffic until the structure has been fully restored.

Downtown is the backbone of Marietta’s local economy and two local nonprofits - Marietta Main Street and the Historic Harmar Bridge Co. - have formed a new partnership focused on one purpose: saving the Historic Harmar Bridge.
